Kalashnikov Concern has made more than 7,000 full-size AK-74M-M mockups. Demand for full-size mockups is currently much higher than the manufacturer’s capabilities, but they are produced in parallel with the fulfillment of the state defence procurement program that is the primary target for the Concern.

A full-size mockup (FSM) is an assault rifle copy that has the same size and weight as the original. FSM allows applying and releasing the safety catch, arming and pulling the trigger, partial disassembly and assembly of the gun. The product is not a weapon and is safe for use, and does not require a purchase license.

As a result of introduction of the unified vocational guidance model in Russian schools, the Concern receives a lot of requests for FSM to be used for working with teenagers. Using the mockups, children are made aware of the assault rifle design, learn to use it and, thus, show their interest in gunsmithing.
