5 records were set in 2012 by the second Mi-38 test article (OP-2) and were officially included in the FAI world record list, the Russian Helicopters holding reports

The team of Mil Moscow Helicopter plant using Mi-38 OP-2 set 3 world records at a time in E-1h class for 10-20 thousand kg rotorcrafts on August, 26 2012 at the World Helicopter Championship.

1st was ascent at 8.620 km without load

2nd record was ascent at 3 km in 6 minutes

3rd record was ascent at 6 km in 10 minutes 52 seconds

The record-setting continued on September, 10 2012 at the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant flight-test facility.

4th record was the 7. 895 km flight altitude with 1 thousand kg load

5th record was the 7.020 km flight altitude with 2 thousand kg load

The achievements of the new multi-purpose passenger-transport Mi-38 helicopter show high performance and reliability of the rotorcraft.

Mi-38 is a multi-purpose passenger-transport helicopter of a new generation. The rotorcraft can be used for flights in visual and adverse weather conditions within the range of -50°C and +60°C. The machine is equipped with the latest avionics. It meets Russian AP-29, European JAR-29 and American FAR-29 requirements. The helicopter is highly reliable and safe, comfortable for crew and passengers, has great performance characteristics and provides the on-condition exploitation.  

Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant is a Russian Helicopters subsidiary. The plant focuses on researching, designing, constructing and testing prototype helicopters. Since its establishment the plant has created 12 basic helicopter models including the Mi-8/17, Mi-35M, Mi-26, Mi-28, Mi-38 and numerous modifications.
