Tatarstan to Host International Investment Forum


An international investment forum begins today in Yelabuga to focus on the issues relatig to creation of machine tool-building industry in Tatarstan.

Leading engineering firms from many European countries, including the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany, are involved in the event, according to Russian newswire ITAR-TASS correspondent Rita Mingalieva.

The Russian delegation at the forum comprises senior executives of commercial vehicle maker KAMAZ, Alabuga Special Economic Zone, heavy construction and oilfield equipment manufacturer ELAZ, petrochemicals producer Nizhnekamskneftekhim, and other manufacturers of the industrialized Kama Valley, as well as Tatarstan’s research institutions.

Turkey’s Coşkunöz Metal Form signed an agreement with the Tatarstan Republican government to set up production of punch presses and stamping equipment in the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the forum, international attendees will visit the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, where 33 residents of Germany, Denmark, Italy, the US, Turkey, France, Republic of Korea, and Japan have set up shop. The event program will also include scheduled meetings with representatives of Tatarstan’s engineering companies and universities and colleges (institutes) of technology.
