Urals Rail Car Design Bureau as part of UVZ Concern, Rostec State Corporation, has put into production 22-5223 type hopper car designed to carry dry-cooled coke.

The hopper car has been developed and put into production within a year. The hopper is furnished with two combined bodies to carry as much coke as possible per trip. “Floating” body sheathing is provided to compensate for thermal expansion during carriage of hot goods up to 300 °С. Handling devices ensure unloading of each body separately. Batch production of hopper cars is carried out at Volchansky Mechanical Plant.

“Throughout the history, Urals Rail Car Design Bureau is focused on research and development of freight rolling stock, bogies and automatic couplers. In our work, we rely on the wide experience and high competence of our personnel,” pointed out Aleksandr Baranov, General Director of UKBV.
