Rostec’s Invention Sustains Life if Donor Organs

Tecmach Concern affiliated to Rostec State Corporation is creating Russia’s first perfusion units and devices complex for mobile artificial blood circulation systems. The invention will be instrumental for resuscitating patients who suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest and for extending “life” of donor organs in transplantology. Test samples production and pre-clinical trials of the new medical solution are planned for 2018. Serial production of the complex is expected to start in 2020.

“Today the time of transportation and storage of transplants in the condition suitable for transplantation is a major problem in medical practice. These solutions will help to increase the time of functional activity of donor organs significantly, thus, enhancing transplants-dependant recipients’ chances” said Vladimir Lepin, Tecmash CEO.

Currently developed medical devices will make it possible to revitalize donor organs using a pulsatile flow of the blood-based oxygenated perfusate.

Tecmach Concern affiliated to Rostec State Corporation is developing high-tech medical products within the framework of the production diversification plan. According to the corporation’s development strategy, the civil products share in the total production array is expected to make up to 50% by 2025.
