Rostec’s Gas Turbines will Enhance Import Independency of the Power of Siberia Gas Pipeline

The United Engine Corporation has started the installation of new gas turbine gas compressor units at the high-priority gas supply facilities of Russia – Gazprom’s Bovanenkovo field and Power of Siberia pipeline. The equipment completely composed of Russian-made components is to be launched by the end of 2022.

Six GTN-16R 16MW gas compressor units have been made by UEC-Gas Turbines for a new stage of Bovanenkovo field. Seven GPA-25 25MW gas compressor units are to be supplied by UEC for construction of Vasily Kolesnikov and Ivan Rebrov compressor plants at the Power of Siberia pipeline.

“Units made by Rostec for strategic facilities such as the Power of Siberia and Bovanenkovo field are completely composed of Russian made components and this is very important under the sanctions imposed against our country. We are to supply a total of twenty five 16MW and 25MW gas compressor units to Gazprom in 2022 to facilitate further development of the Russian gas transmission system,” said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.

GTN-16R and GPA-25 are based on Russian PS-90-GP2, PS-90GP-25 and AL-31ST gas turbine engines which, in turn, constitute ground-based versions of air propulsion plants. These units have been supplied in favor of Gazprom since 2013 and 2014, respectively.
