Russian Helicopter Systems, RHS Aviation Training Centre and Russian Helicopters are delighted to announce the Colibri first Russian woman helicopter squadron formation.

The squadron consists of 5 beautiful active girls that decided to dedicate their lives to the sky. They are both world-class professional pilots and students from the RHS Training Centre. The girls are completely different, but they are united by the profound love for rotorcraft aviation and the freedom of the sky.

RHS is to give a spring Colibri ball for them on the international woman’s day. The ball will include solemn squadron landing, concert, the congratulations of the Berkut pilot group, Helicopter Industry Association, friends, students and graduates of RHS Aviation Training Centre, including the Heroes of Russia cosmonaut-pilots Sergey Krikalev and Yury Lonchakov.

Helicopter Industry Association is a Russian noncommercial organization enhancing the development of national rotorcraft industry. The Association aims mostly at all-round helicopter industry development, modern legal framework forming, professional and safety levels improving, economic security increasing and market developing. Sergey Mikheev, Doctor of Engineering, the Hero of Russia, full RAS associate, is the president of the Association.

The HIA members (19 aircraft companies, 14 helicopter producers,13 service enterprises and 130 associates) exploit over 550 different rotorcraft types which makes over a half of Russian helicopter fleet. The Association participates in organization of the HeliRussia exhibition, biggest in Europe.

Berkut is a Russian Air Forces pilot group using 6 Mi-28N attack helicopters. The squadron was established on April, 12 1989 within the Air Forces combat training centre in Torzhok. This pilot group shows acrobatics operations of highest and medium complexity in both vertical and horizontal planes, at extremely low altitude using Mi-24. The pilot group traditionally participates in Moscow, Vladimir, Tula, Samara and Syzran aerospace shows. Colonel Evgeniy Galkin is the head of the combat training centre.
