Russian Helicopters holding showcases the Ansat furnished with medical equipment, the Ka-32А11VS fire-fighting helicopter and Mi-8/17 utility helicopter at the China Helicopter Exposition 2025 International Exhibition. Scale models of the aircraft are displayed at the Russian Helicopters stand.

“Our Chinese partners have been extensively using Russian heavy and ultra heavy lift helicopters for many years. For example, the Ka-32А11VS are traditionally used for fire fighting. The total fleet of Russian helicopters in the PRC consists of more than 450 vehicles, from which about 390 ones (approximately 85%) are Mi-8/17 type heavy helicopters. Moreover, Airlines of China consider extending the helicopter fleet,” said Nikolay Kolesov, General Director of Russian Helicopters.

The Ka-32А11VS and modernized Ka-32А11М for fire fighting, Mi-8/17 for search and rescue operations, Mi-26ТС for natural disaster recovery, and light Ansats for emergency medical service missions and flight training are of interest to Chinese airlines.

The Mi-8/17 utility helicopters are continuously improved and their performance is streamlined. X-shaped tail rotor, new materials and, above all, more efficient propulsion systems offer new opportunities for using these helicopters in various situations.

The Ka-32А11VS is equipped for fire fighting missions and is used in dozens of foreign countries. Its maneuverability, power-to-weight ratio, water cannon suitability for restrained urban conditions make the Ka-32 helicopters indispensable for fire fighting, in particular in high-rise buildings.

China Helicopter Exposition 2025 is taking place from 16 to 19 October in Tianjin, China.
