Rostec’s Russian Helicopters holding took the Ansat, light utility helicopter, into the air. This is an import-substituted version made by Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ) and equipped with the Russian VK-650V engines developed by United Engine Corporation. The helicopter made a 6 minute flight within the flight test.

The crew performed an in-flight stability and control evaluation. Functional testing of the equipment and main systems was carried out. The flight was first made with disengaged autopilot and then with engaged autopilot.

The upgraded aircraft received modified cowl and firewall configurations, fuel and oil systems were improved. Helicopter control system and emergency engine control system were modified. Changes also covered the body structure. Thus, for example, a cockpit canopy frame is now made of carbon fiber.

The import-substituted Ansat was designed on the basis of the Ansat-M certified in 2022 and will be able to cover up to 660 km without refueling and up to 800 km with an additional fuel tank. The Ansat helicopters boast high maneuverability and the most roomy cabin in their class, and are easy to operate. The helicopter can fly at temperatures from −45°C to +50°C and in high mountain regions. All this allows the helicopter to be used for various flight missions, including in restrained urban conditions.
