United Engine Corporation has made the second GTD-110M, a mass-produced high-power gas turbine. After successful testing, the machine was released for installation at a facility that will supply electricity to the South of Russia.

The turbine has successfully undergone the acceptance test to confirm the reliable operation of all systems and has been shipped to the customer. The GTD-110M will be a part of generation equipment at one of the largest power plants in the Rostov region. The first turbine of this type has been already used as part of Udarnaya TPP in the Krasnodar Krai.

“Rostec helps achieve a strategic goal of national grid development in Russia. These efforts involve mass production of the domestic GTD-110M high-power turbines at the UEC facilities. This is currently Russia’s only machine of its class. Our manufacturers has already shipped the second mass-produced turbine. This delivery will be followed by next ones to help enhance the national energy security,” said Oleg Evtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.

The high-power turbine is designed to actuate generators as part of gas turbine and combined cycle plants up to 500 MW. The GTD-110M with a unit rating of 115 MW has an efficiency more than 36%, which is comparable with the world’s best gas turbine engines.

The GTD-110M specifications are comparable with similar foreign products. However, the turbine is more-light-weight and compact, thus, making delivery to customers easier. The machine demonstrates high fuel efficiency. The design uses cast blades and other cutting-edge engineering solutions.
