Udarnaya thermal power plant built in the Krasnodar Krai by Technopromexport, Rostec’s subsidiary, successfully operated at full load during the first year. The plant has shown high efficiency and reliability during this period of time and provided the South of Russia with almost 3.5 mln MW*h of electricity.
Gas turbines of the system have demonstrated a high efficiency, and the total operating time has confirmed the equipment reliability. During the year of operation, the power station used 800 mln m³ of natural gas to generate more than 3.47 mln Mw*h of electricity.
The Udarnaya is the first plant, whose generation equipment includes the GTD-110M, Russia’s first high-power turbine. The total equivalent operating hours of the unit as part of the TPP were 6,812 EOH per year.
“Udarnaya TPP in the Krasnodar Krai is one of the most advanced facilities that has contributed to strengthening the national energy security. It has facilitated comprehensive development of the region, eliminated the electricity shortage and helped bring into operation new infrastructure facilities. Our company teams demonstrated high professional skills when creating the Udarnaya, and implemented state-of-the-art engineering solutions within a limited time. Even today the plant equals its name (in the terminology of the Soviet Union ‘Udarnaya’ means shock labor) and works in a high efficiency and trouble-free manner. The South of Russia received almost 3.5 mln Mw*h during the first year of plant operation. We are currently facing a challenge of further plant expansion. With the appearance of new power units, the total output of the Udarnaya will exceed 1 GW,” said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rosteс State Corporation.
