Rostec has Completed the Factory Test of the Cutting-Edge Mechanical Ventilator for COVID Patient Therapy

Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies has completed the factory test of Mobivent Oxy mechanical ventilator, which is unparalleled in Russia. It is designed specially for COVID and obstructive pulmonary disease patients in the exacerbation phase and for cardiac patients when insufficient blood saturation is observed.

Mobivent Oxy made by Urals Instrument-Making Plant is designed for high-flow oxygen therapy in children and adults. This is an adjunct treatment method that is suitable only for patients capable of spontaneous inhale breathing. The high-flow oxygen therapy involves delivery of warmed, humidified and oxygen-enriched air to patients. When used for treatment of infectious viral diseases with pulmonary complications, this method improves the patient’s condition considerably.

“The new apparatus has been already tested at the factory. Currently, Mobivent Oxy is being prepared for testing in accredited laboratories and further registration with the Federal Service for Supervision in Healthcare. We are planning to launch its commercial production in 2024, for this, modernization of the existing manufacturing facilities and mastering of new technologies are now underway at the company,” said Oleg Evtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.

Compared with its foreign counterparts, the Russian apparatus has more monitoring capabilities, including the built-in pulse oximeter and additional lung ventilation function in case of critical respiratory disorders.
