The Shvabe holding company of the Rostec State Corporation delivered incubators, irradiators and heaters for infants to Malaysia and Indonesia. The holding company's equipment will be used in healthcare institutions for infant care.
Shvabe supplied intensive care incubators, neonatal tables, phototherapeutic irradiators and heaters for private clinics in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, and several cities in Indonesia. The equipment will be used to provide the entire cycle of nursing care procedures for infants, including infants with extremely low body weight. At least 50 equipment units will be delivered to Indonesia by an exclusive distributor in Southeast Asia by the end of this summer.
"According to the World Health Organisation, more than 15 million infants are born prematurely each year across the world. Indonesia is one of the top-ten countries with the largest number of premature newborns, and since 2011 the holding company has been supplying neonatal equipment to this country almost every month. The largest ever supply during the entire period of cooperation was made last year when Shvabe imported 130 units of equipment at once," told Ivan Ozhgikhin, Deputy CEO of Shvabe.
Southeast Asia is one of the top-five export markets with the most attractive conditions for export of Shvabe's technologically advanced products. Apart from Indonesia and Malaysia, medical equipment is also supplied to the Philippines, Bangladesh,and 50 other countries.
Shvabe's neonatal equipment has been manufactured by Ural Optical Mechanics Plant since 1990. Over that period of time, it helped the doctors save more than 3.5 million premature newborns in more than 700 healthcare institutions. Over the last years, the "smart" equipment was installed in 15 new perinatal centres built by the Rostec State Corporation under the Federal Programme, and dozens of other obstetric centres in Russia.
