Research Institute of Steel has started batch production of Elbrus-T titanium armor helmets. These products are a part of new family of titanium helmets adapted to Br2 level of new GOST R 57560-2017. The existing plant capacity and supply chains allow to reduce the production cycle of this helmet down to three months.

Titanium helmet has several advantages over fully compositional helmets. One of them is higher resistance to natural fragments having sharp cutting edges (hand grenade, grenade launcher round, mine, high explosive projectile fragments). Titanium helmet also has improved specifications compared with its competitors. However in terms of cost, Elbrus-T titanium helmet is in line with the best Br2 level composite helmets.

Titanium helmets have always been a signature piece of Research Institute of Steel. Due to their high quality and reliability, Altyn, 6B6-3 and Rys-T types are still used by Russian enforcement agencies and in former USSR countries.
