Kurganmashzavod included in Rostec’s High-Precision Systems holding has delivered a new batch of the TM-140 all-terrain vehicles to the EMERCOM of Russia. The vehicles will be used at the Arctic integrated center of the Arkhangelsk region and in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
High mobility is the key feature of the TM-140. The vehicle can move on deep snow, across marshes and water obstacles. Moreover, the vehicle is capable of moving uphill at an angle up to 30°. Due to these performance ratings, the TM-140 may be used in hard-to-reach areas, in particular, in adverse Arctic conditions.
Another advantage of the all-terrain vehicle is its modular configuration allowing the TM-140 to be promptly adapted to special purposes. For example, a passenger module may be installed. The module can carry up to eight people and includes four sleeping beds. Therefore, the TM-140 is suitable for long expeditions.
The vehicle’s capacity is 4 tons, speed is up to 45 km/h on hard surface and up to 5 km/h on water, cruising range is more than 500 km. The all-terrain vehicle may be also provided with additional fuel tanks to increase the range up to 870 km.
The vehicles are equipped with an autonomous diesel generator power station for battery charging, power supply of various equipment in the modules and cabin, and for welding. The vehicle has a guaranteed starting system that is used to start the engine even when the battery charge is lower than 20% of the nominal capacity. The solution improves the reliability of special vehicles.
