RD-107А/RD-108А rocket engines produced by Samara-based facility of Rostec’s United Engine Corporation ensured successful launch of the rocket from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. A group of 43 Russian and foreign satellites has been sent to orbit.

The Soyuz-2.1b with Fregat booster, Meteor-M No.2-3 weather satellite and 42 Russian and foreign accompanying small satellites was launched on 27 June at 02:34 PM Moscow time. RD-107А/108А engines installed on stages I and II of the rocket performed without any failures.

UEC-Kuznetsov service center personnel responsible for power unit operation control during all launches installed and tested all engine support systems.

Meteor-M No.2-3 is designed to provide weather support, climate and environment monitoring, Earth resources observation, heliogeophysical monitoring in the near-Earth space environment as well as to receive data from automatic data acquisition instrumentation platforms.

This was the seventh successful launch of Soyuz type rocket in the current year that was ensured by United Engine Corporation’s engines.
