The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute “Signal” of the High Precision Systems holding has handed over automated fire control systems for 1В181 and 1В198 artillery units to the Russian Defense Ministry as part of the 2020 state defense order.

The technologies provide automated firing control and maneuvering of artillery battalions consisting of up to four batteries and up to eight guns in a battery during preparation and combat operations. They are used for "Msta-S" and "Msta-B" self-propelled artillery mounts as well as "Tornado-G" and "Grad" multiple launch rocket systems.

“The use of automation equipment allows to perform firing missions with a flexible arrangement of guns in a given area of firing positions and to perform anti-fire maneuvers in the shortest time, hitting targets sequentially from two or more firing positions”, said Alexander Denisov, General Director of High Precision Systems.

The use of modern means of preparation and new algorithms for resolving special situations make it possible to increase the accuracy of firing by 25-30%, while new-generation guided projectiles destroy enemy targets with a probability of 0.98-0.99. The timeliness of artillery battalion firing is ensured by reducing preparation time by 1.5 to 2x in comparison with existing counterparts.
