Backpack-free Parachute Developed in Russia

Technodinamika Holding affiliated to Rostec State Corporation has made public an advanced and unrivalled Shturm system for low-altitudes airborne dropping on the Kirzhach airfield during the new production line's opening ceremony.

Shturm is a proactive development effort by the holding. Some preliminary tests have already been carried out. Acceptance tests are to be scheduled jointly with the Russian military and security forces.

According to the Technical Design Assignment the permissible weight of the jumper is up to 150 kg at a flight speed of up to 180 km/h. The system is designed for low-altitude drop of attack teams in extreme conditions of a combat mission in a confined space.

"As early as at this stage of tests we can state with assurance that Technodinamika has proven its unique competences in the field of developing and producing parachute systems," believes Igor Nasenkov, CEO of Technodinamika Holding. "In close cooperation with the experts from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Rostec State Corporation we will further develop this line of business and extend markets for our products."

During the Shturm tests paratroopers were dropped from Mi-8 helicopters at an altitude of 70-100 metres and an indicated flight speed of 80-120 km/h.
