The quality management system (QMS) of the St. Petersburg Klimov JSC affiliated to the United Engine Building Corporation, which designs and produces gas turbine engines for aircraft and helicopters, has been certified according to the international standard AS 9100. Klimov JSC has become the first Russian company to be certified under the stricter new requirements of the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG).
"The engines produced by Klimov JSC meet the highest international standards – we have been certified by the aviation authorities of Canada and the European Union," says Aleksandr Vatagin, Klimov JSC Executive Director." "The awarded Certificate of Compliance with the international aviation standard AS 9100 once again confirmed that the Russian engine construction industry is abreast with the modern international requirements and is able to take a leading position among the developers and manufacturers of aircraft engines."
The Certificate of Compliance with the international standard AS 9100 was presented to the company’s team by Arkady Vladimirtsev, General Director of the Russian Register, Certification Association.
"Now that very stringent requirements are being imposed on Russian manufacturers, a successful international certification is akin to heroism," says Arkady Vladimirtsev. "We are one of the few internationally recognized enterprise certification operators in Russia and regularly conduct evaluation of a variety of companies. Nevertheless, our experts were pleasantly surprised by the level of the process and production management at Klimov JSC.
