The Heli-Expo 2013 show, to take place in the US between March 5 and 7, is one of the world’s largest. More than 20,000 industry specialists are planning to attend, manning more than 650 displays.

“Russian Helicopters will introduce their new medium multi-role passenger/freighter Kamov Ka-62 helicopter, designed with modern technologies based on use of composite materials in the body structure and load-carrying frame elements,” the announcement says.

The Kamov Ka-62 is a single-rotor design with a tail control rotor in the vertical stabilizer fin. The helicopter is designed to meet the international flight safety and fuel efficiency standards, the Holding Company’s press service emphasized.
“The first flight of the Kamov Ka-62 is scheduled for 2013, with airworthiness certificate expected in 2014,” Russian Helicopters reminded.

The Kamov Ka-62 is designed to carry 12-14 passengers in the main cabin, or 2.5 metric tons of cargo suspended beneath the aircraft body. Certification of the new helicopter is scheduled for 2014. Kamov Ka-62 helicopters can be useful in the oil-and-gad sector, as well as for rescue missions.

“Furthermore, the Holding Company will present another new model at the show – the upgraded multi-role Mil Mi-171A2, based on the best engineering and structural solutions of the famous Mil Mi-8/17 platform. Innovative aviation technology solutions implemented in the new models expand significantly its potential applications,” the Holding Company’s press-service added.

The Holding Company will also feature a multi-role coaxial-rotor Kamov Ka-32A11BC, which can be used in special firefighting and search-end-rescue missions, for high-altitude construction projects and for transporting cargo.
