United Aircraft Corporation has delivered the next Su-34 aircraft to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. The new strike fighters have passed the necessary tests and flown to their duty locations.
“All Rostec’s aircraft factories involved in the state defence procurement program are keeping stable production rates. Our companies are continuously improving their manufacturing processes to ensure the accelerated production rates. The Su-34 frontline bombers are highly appreciated in the field. Functionality of the aircraft allows pilots to fulfill their missions in any theater of operations and to use unguided and guided air-launched weapons,” said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.
The Su-34 strike fighter is designed to engage ground (surface) and air targets and infrastructure facilities covered by air defence systems and situated at considerable distances from the home airfield. The aircraft effectively operates in conditions of enemy fire and electronic countermeasures, in day and night time, in favorable and adverse weather conditions. The Su-34 can also fulfill air reconnaissance missions.
“This is not the last batch of the Su-34 strike fighters this year. These aircraft form the basis of frontline air striking power and have proved effective in real combat conditions,” said Vadim Badekha, General Director of UEC.
