The Il-114-300 regional turbopropeller aircraft has successfully passed a testing program at extremely low temperatures in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The ground test facility included aircraft cooling during long-term parking at temperatures down to -45 °C. After completion of test aircraft cooling, Il’s specialists have checked the aircraft systems, passenger cabin equipment and exterior lighting for proper functioning. In particular, starting of the TV7-117ST-01 engines made by United Engine Corporation, functions of landing gear, anti-icing and air conditioning systems, entry doors and emergency exits were tested at low temperatures.

The Il-114-300 performed a series of test flights from Yakutsk, during which functions of the aircraft control system, propeller and blade feathering system were checked. Performance of the avionics system, radio communication equipment and voice announcement system was evaluated after long-term parking at low ambient temperatures.
