The Il-114-300 turbopropeller passenger aircraft undergoes the flight certification test at Gorno-Altaisk airport in the Altai Republic.
Testing in this geographical region makes it possible to evaluate as many modes as possible within several certification programs.
Moreover, one of the Il-114-300 prototypes has performed a series of international flights with an intermediate stop at Krayniy Airport in the city of Baikonur.
The Il-114 -300 totally consists of Russia’s components, most of which have been designed and are manufactured by Rostec’s companies. Design documentation for the aircraft was prepared in a digital form, and a digital aircraft model was created. Owing to this, PJSC Il and aircraft factories involved in cooperation for building the airplane can work in a single information environment.
The new regional Il-114-300 has improved performance, uses more composite materials, and is provided with a new digital flight and navigation system. Almost all main aircraft systems were improved with special focus made on enhancing cockpit ergonomics. Fuel efficiency indicators of the new airplane exceed those of the existing similar foreign aircraft.
The Il-114-300 is a regional passenger jet with a maximum capacity of 66 seats. It will replace the An-24 and foreign regional airplanes operated by local airlines. The Il-114-300 will be able to fly in an autonomous mode, regardless of the airfield infrastructure. Moreover, it is intended to be used in polar regions.
