A facility included in Shvabe holding will start production of a dental surgical microscope. The instrument forms a digital 3D image and improves the quality of surgical operations. Equipment of such level will be produced in Russia for the first time, formerly such equipment was supplied from abroad.
The digital dental surgical microscope will be manufactured by Zverev Krasnogorsk Plant (KMZ) in partnership with a Russian developer. The medical product is currently undergoing the registration procedure. The instrument allows a doctor to examine a magnified 3D image on a 150cm screen. Moreover, the patient can see all dentist’s manipulations in a 3D format.
Display of a 3D image enables a doctor and assistant to work in a comfortable position. A wide view angle and picture with a high level of detail provide the fullest diagnostics and correct treatment. This has a positive effect on the work process and outcomes.
“We are planning to make about 20,000 modern digital surgical microscopes at our Krasnogorsk Plant in 2026. This is a promising niche — optical surgical systems are being digitized everywhere. Private and public clinics currently experience a shortage of such products due to their high cost. The microscope, that is to be mass-produced, was created together with our partners to replace a foreign product,” pointed out Valeria Tonkoshkurova, Director of Medical Project Development of Shvabe.
