Russian Helicopters holding has delivered 14 new Mi-8MTV-1 to Russian airlines. The rotorcraft was made by Kazan Helicopter Plant under a contract with State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) for 86 Mi-8 type helicopters. Russian Helicopters holding supplied a total of 40 Mi-8MTV-1 utility helicopters to GTLK in 2024.

“Helicopters made under the contract with GTLK are furnished with the necessary equipment designed for a wide range of aviation activities. Note that the company completed its production plan 2024 and proceeded to rotorcraft manufacturing under further contracts. We continue to fulfill our obligations on delivery of modern helicopters to regional airlines under the contracts with GTLK and to other customers,” said Nikolay Yakovlev, General Director of Kazan Helicopter Plant.

The new 8s may be furnished with additional 915 l fuel tanks. Due to this the helicopters can cover long distances without refueling — up to 1,050 km. The utility Mi-8МТВ-1 are able to carry goods up to 4 tons and may be furnished with medical modules, if required.

The helicopters have high flight and service performance. The Mi-8 design and equipment allow them to be used in extreme conditions at autonomous noninstrument pads. These properties are of particular importance in hard-to-reach Arctic and Far East areas.
