Ruselectronics holding is showcasing the Surikat-O/P miniature electronic warfare system designed for personnel protection against drones, including FPV drones, at the Army-2024. The final testing phase and preparation for mass production are currently underway.
The Surikat-O/P consists of two separate modules — detection and suppression modules, and a battery. The total weight of the system is just 2.75 kg, therefore, it can be carried in a load bearing vest and attached to clothing or a bulletproof vest, and does not hinder free movement of a soldier.
The device detects a hostile drone at a distance less than 1 km. The system successfully suppresses the target at a safe distance — at least 300 m. Acquisition time is 12 hours, suppression time is 1.5 hours.
“Personnel protection is the essential task on the front line. The new Surikat designed by our engineers ensures personal protection in case of a hostile drone attack. Such equipment shall become a binding item in an active combat zone along with helmets and bulletproof vests. Thus, we will be able to protect our guys in situations that have been regarded as a stalemate. Development of the Surikat-O/P has started this year and supplemented an anti-drone system portfolio made by Vector Research Institute. We are planning to start mass production of new products in the next months,” said Natalia Kotlyar, Deputy General Director of Business Development of Vector Research Institute.
