Rostec’s High-Precision Systems holding has delivered a batch of the Pantsyr-SMD surface-to-air missile systems to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. A batch of the Pantsyr-S fighting vehicles has been also delivered to a public procurement authority. The systems underwent all necessary tests and were accepted by military acceptance representatives.
Ammunition in the launching ramp of the advanced Pantsyr-SMD may include 48 miniature missiles. Whilst the number of missiles in the launcher may vary depending on the combination of standard guided surface-to-air missiles and miniature missiles.
The Pantsyr-SMD is equipped with a fire control system consisting of a multifunctional radar system and electro-optical system. The system can automatically assess fire effectiveness.
“The Pantsyr systems demonstrate high efficiency when protecting the Russian sky. Their crews detected and killed multiple complex air targets” said Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Weapons Cluster of Rostec State Corporation.
