Rosel holding included in Rostec State Corporation has made new equipment for satellite-free airplane, helicopter and UAV navigation systems. The equipment is used in regions with unstable satellite communication and in signal suppression conditions. The device has undergone the flight test and is ready for serial production.
The product is an improved version of a small-size Doppler velocity and drift angle sensor (DVS). It features rugged design, high reading accuracy through digital processing methods, power consumption is four times as low, the product dimensions were reduced several times and the weight was reduced ten times.
DVS can serve as an autonomous accurate velocity and drift angle measurement backup system for navigation systems of most aircraft. The new device surpasses other Russian and foreign products in terms of its main specifications. It may be used where satellite communication is lost occasionally, for example, in polar regions. Utilization of the device is justified in the presence of threats such as cyber attacks or radio signal suppression. The new product uses fully Russian software compatible with any types of airborne equipment.
