Engineers from Tambov-based Elektrobribor concern included in concern Radio-Electronic Technologies developed a domestic equivalent of an industrial conveyor belt accident control sensor. This kind of equipment was previously supplied to Russia from Germany. The first Russian devices have already undergone the tests, and a pilot batch is currently being manufactured.
The sensor is an essential element of conveyor unit safety systems. The device prevents serious accidents caused by conveyor belt displacement or derailment. Such accidents often occur at production sites in such industries as iron and steel, mining and agriculture. The new product will prevent failure of expensive equipment. The operating principle includes detection of a suspicious signal after which the device stops the conveyor and prevents the accident.
The first pilot sensor batch is currently manufactured at the facility. Potential customers are ready to purchase at least 7,000 sensors.
“Our engineers have upgraded the original design. Accuracy of the device was successfully increased by using an inductive sensor and through mechanical improvements. The main achievement is in minimizing false tripping. This was achieved by expanding the response temperature range,” said Elektropribor representatives.
