The Central Research Institute of Automation and Hydraulics of the High-Precision Systems holding company, together with JSC NPP Proekt-Tekhnika, has developed the first domestic air bridge for Russian airports. Currently, a prototype of the passenger "sleeve" has been manufactured and is undergoing comprehensive testing. Previously, such equipment was supplied only from abroad.

The passenger air bridge is equipped with special electro-hydraulic and electromechanical drives, a control and safety system, due to which it can change its height, length and configuration when docking with an aircraft. Due to this, it is compatible with all types of aircraft - from regional jets to long-haul airliners.
"Rostec enterprises not only create modern aircraft, but also develop advanced solutions for the infrastructure of Russian airports. Among them are locators, systems for ensuring takeoff and landing, territory monitoring systems. The new air bridge continues this line. The device will make boarding any aircraft comfortable and convenient for passengers, which is especially important for regions with a cold climate. The "sleeves" will be produced entirely from Russian components and will allow import substitution of foreign equipment," noted Rostec Executive Director Oleg Yevtushenko.

In addition, the company plans to modernize imported jet bridges, including producing components related to the most complex units - electrohydraulics and electromechanics - as well as control systems. After such an upgrade, foreign "sleeves" will be able to be serviced by the institute's specialists.
