KAMAZ-Master Racing Trucks Have Passed Scrutineering Before the Dakar

The racing trucks of the KAMAZ-master team have successfully passed scrutineering in the French port of Le Havre. Now the vehicles are in a closed park, they are waiting for loading on the ferry, which will take a course across the Atlantic Ocean to Peru on November 30. The Dakar-2018 will take place in Lima on January 6, 2018.

The participants of the Dakar-2018 include four crews of the Russian KAMAZ-master team led by pilots Eduard Nikolayev, Ayrat Mardeev, Dmitry Sotnikov and Anton Shibalov.

One of the main innovations of this year is a new vehicle with a 13-liter engine. It has been developed by the team in preparation for the Dakar rally and successfully proved itself during the Silk Way-2017. In order to comply with the new Dakar regulations, which will affect the vehicles from January 2019, a six-cylinder in-line engine was installed on the sports car without a hood.

The jubilee 40th Dakar will start in Lima (Peru) on January 6 and will end in Cordoba (Argentina) on January 20. The total length of the route will be about 9000 km. The participants of the race will cross the territory of Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina.
