The PJSC KAMAZ forging plant will start to produce crankshafts for cars. Starting from the next year the plant will operate as a regular supplier for Volkswagen Group Rus.

The KAMAZ forging plant successfully underwent a two-day production audit organized by Volkswagen Group Rus representatives. As noted at the plant, a huge preparatory work and a series of auditors’ visits preceded the final audit. The engineering service of the plant designed a new forging from scratch, created documentation, registered all processes and organized production preparation.

As a result of the audit, customer’s representatives confirmed that the whole process is adjusted and ensures serial production of crankshaft forgings for cars with a required quality and in required volumes. "Everything was done as required by world-class specifications and standards. This resulted in a serious commercial project implemented in partnership with one of the leading global manufacturers," noted in the KAMAZ press release.

Currently output volumes are estimated at the level of 150 thousand forgings per year. As noted at the plant, they have already started to work on further development and production increase. The plant is going to upgrade its production and purchase new equipment.
