United Engine Corporation included in Rostec State Corporation showcases solutions for creating a flexible power supply system for data processing centers. The proposed system involves scalability as computational capabilities grow. At INNOPROM, UEC demonstrates that gas turbine equipment can be utilized for power supply of digital infrastructure using the mass produced GTD-6/RM engine as an example.
UEC’s gas turbine plants are designed to build power supply infrastructure for data processing centers on a modular basis, adding capacity and performance simultaneously with the computational equipment loading. This is provided both by increasing power equipment fleet and through introduction of combined cycles utilizing engine exhaust heat for generating additional electricity using a steam turbine.
UEC showcases the GTD-6/RM series 6 MW gas turbine engine at Rostec’s joint stand at INNOPROM. The GTD-6/8RM series engines serve as an example of successful utilization of gas turbine equipment for power supply of a data processing center. The 52 MW Tutaev CCCP integrated into a DPC power supply system uses the GTD-8/RM engines. Electricity from CCP provides uninterrupted operation of the data center, while thermal power is used for municipal services purposes.
The total capacity of power equipment made by UEC currently exceeds 6 GW. More than 675 gas turbine power units produced by UEC’s facilities are primarily used for power supply of local, remote manufacturing facilities and municipal infrastructure.
