Rostec First Showcases an Advanced Piston Engine for Civilian Drones at INNOPROM

United Engine Corporation included in Rostec State Corporation has presented the advanced APD-13 piston engine for civilian drones at the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM in Yekaterinburg. A 13 hp unit has already undergone ground and flight tests. The M105 power unit for small aircraft is also being showcased.

The APD-13 air-cooled two-stroke two-cylinder aircraft engine design uses advanced technology and solutions. Having a weight of 3.4 kg and relatively small dimensions, the APD-13 has a power of 13 hp. Engine displacement is 130 cm3 with a stroke of 37.5 mm. The power unit provides civilian UAV operations at an altitude up to 3000 m. 

The APD-13 features an optimum fuel consumption. Carburation provides reduced cylinder load, high environmental friendliness and effective fuel consumption control in various operating modes. Forced spark ignition ensures reliable start, flexible power and fuel consumption control and stable operation at various speeds. 

In addition, a more powerful piston engine, the M105, designed for civilian light aircraft and autogyro is being showcased at INNOPROM. The engine has competitive specifications and can replace similar foreign products. 

The M105 is a 115 hp compact injection four-stroke four-cylinder turbocharged aircraft piston engine. It has a weight of just 75 kg with a displacement of 1211 cm3 and a stroke of 61 mm. Benefits of the M105 include its performance. Due to advanced design solutions, the engine will be able to operate on aircraft during 10 years, assigned lifetime is 2000 hours and time between overhauls is 750 hours.
