Successful flight confirms that production chains are ready for mass production of this type of aircraft

The MC-21-310 passenger airliner built using mass production technologies flew from the Irkutsk aircraft factory airfield (included in Rostec’s United Aircraft Corporation). The aircraft in import-substituted design stayed airborne for 1 hour 23 minutes.

The aircraft equipped with the PD-14 engines made by Rostec’s United Engine Corporation reached an altitude of 6000 meters and an indicated airspeed of 600 km/h. The crew tested stability, flight control in various configurations and operation of domestically built airborne systems. The aircraft operated properly, and the flight mission was fully fulfilled.

Successful flight of the mass produced aircraft verifies that production chains are ready for mass production of this type of aircraft, in particular, of the first batch of 18 airplanes. The factory can already proceed to execution of new orders approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.

Aircraft certification process is underway at the same time. Currently, the MC-21-310 has fulfilled more than a half of certification flight program. Introduction of mass production technologies at this stage ensures steady aircraft movement along the assembly line and will speed up transition to regular delivery of airplanes to airlines.
