Vladimir Putin escorted by Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rosteс, and Igor Kobzev, governor of the Irkutsk region, has visited Irkutsk aircraft factory, Yakovlev branch included in Rostec’s United Aircraft Corporation.
The head of state has examined the cockpit of the MC-21 airliner fabricated using mass-production technologies. The aircraft is fitted with the PD-14 engines made by United Engine Corporation and cutting-edge systems, most of which have been created by Rostec's companies. There are now 18 airliners of this type at the factory at various stages of completion.
The President of the Russian Federation has also estimated the Yak-130M trainer. The aircraft has received a new sighting system, aircraft defence suite and expanded range of weapons, including guided missiles. This allows the aircraft to effectively engage ground and air targets, including heavy drones, in any weather conditions, by day and night.
