The RD-107А/108А rocket engines produced by Samara-based UEC-Kuznetsov manufacturing facility included in United Engine Corporation allowed the Soyuz-2.1a with a spacecraft to be launched successfully. The propulsion systems worked without failures and carried the spacecraft into Earth’s orbit.

The rocket was launched on 31 October 2024 from the Plesetsk Test Cosmodrome launcher in the Arkhangelsk region. UEC-Kuznetsov’s engines installed on stages I and II of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle worked properly and helped carry the spacecraft into the target orbit at the estimated time.

UEC-Kuznetsov service center personnel were involved in preparing the launch vehicle for the launch and also tracked the engine operation conditions.

Stages I and II of all R-7 type launch vehicles (including Soyuz type launch vehicles) have been furnished with the RD-107А/RD-108А propulsion modifications since 1958. These engines are currently produced on a large scale by UEC-Kuznetsov under the design supervision carried out by the engine designer Glushko SPA Energomash. Statistical product reliability exceeds 99.9%.
