Kaliningrad Amber Combine has demonstrated jewelry combining the Baltic gems with a new material — foamiran. This polymer adds volume to amber products, while making them lightweight. A new product line has been first demonstrated at the 7th International Industrial Exhibition EXPO EURASIA in Ho Chi Minh.
The Amber Combine has developed a series of jewelry made of the Baltic gem and foamiran, a decorative polymer material. When making the new products, designers used the material’s property of taking any shape when exposed to heat. Foamiran sheets were transformed into a luxuriant flower with its core encrusted with amber.
The polymer made the jewelry lightweight. For example, the largest item — a brooch of 17 cm in diameter — weighs just 25 grams.
The premiere of a new collection with foamiran took place at EXPO EURASIA VIETNAM 2026, the largest industrial exhibition. The combine’s stand demonstrates approximately three hundred amber jewelry items from the latest collections, including items using fur, brass foil and jewelry mesh.
Kaliningrad Amber Combine is one of Russia’s advanced manufacturing facilities and the world’s only factory that extracts and processes amber.
The jewelry production facility underwent modernization in 2021. The factory produces about 170,000 jewelry and souvenir items annually.
EXPO EURASIA VIETNAM 2026 is taking place on 24-28 June in Ho Chi Minh. This year, the international business venue intended to demonstrate advances and find new business contacts encompasses more than 5000 exhibitors from 100 countries across the world.
