Rostec State Corporation has first showcased the OneCell Scan 3.0, a domestically produced artificial intelligence-based histological scanner, at the CIPR-2025 conference. The device has already proved effective — it was used by physicians to make more than 1.5 million diagnoses, including early cancer cases.

OneCell Scan 3.0 is the Russia’s first microslide scanner with artificial intelligence and medical decision support system. The scanner was developed by OneCell, a company co-owned by Azimut managing company included in Rostec State Corporation.

The scanner is designed for digital processing of histological and cytological slides. The device can be used continuously on a 24/7 basis for processing up to 288 samples simultaneously. Scanning time of one slide is 2 to 3 minutes. Integrated AI algorithms define the zones of interest, focus on desired areas and automatically sort images into the database. The system identifies and removes unsuitable samples without interrupting the process.

According to expert estimates, at least 1,000 such scanners will be required in Russia in the years to come. Rostec’s manufacturing capacities can completely cover this demand and provide hospitals and laboratories with the OneCell system, a scanner and telemedicine platform.
