Ruselectronics holding will create a new supercomputer for Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences (JIHT RAS) New solutions will be used for research, development and engineering.
The high-performance software and hardware package will be created using the experience gained by Research and Development Center of Computer Technology in the development and production of the previous generation supercomputers — Angara-K1, Desmos and Fisher, including the immersion cooling practice. The future computer cluster will differ from its predecessors in its higher peak performance and maximum possible utilization of domestic hardware components.
Angara interconnect will be used as the basis for it. Angara is Russia’s first interconnect for creation of high-performance supercomputers, computer clusters for big data processing and calculations on the basis of superscalable parallel algorithms using multiple distributed computers.
“We are currently working through the specifications of the new supercomputer by determining the number of nodes, node memory, processor architecture and the number of cores. The Angara interconnect capabilities make it possible to implement a project of any level of complexity and concentrate the power of thousands of computers within a single network,” said Ruslan Dzeitov, General Director of NICEVT.
