Fireworks will take place on May 9 tо commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The festive fireworks have been made by Rostec State Corporation. The products range from 105 mm to 310 mm in caliber and may be lifted at a height more than 250 m.

Each firework consists of a pyrotechnic shell – a ball containing special compound. Nitrate is its main component. It is colorless, therefore other chemicals such as strontium, barium, etc., are added to it. The former will make a figure with red flames in air, the latter will make a figure with green flames.

Moreover, additional components may be included in the chemical composition for pulsating burning and other effects. This makes firework flames flicker in air without smoke. Fireworks are launched using special equipment – a potgun. One battery can include dozens of guns. Saluting divisions of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation will shoot the fireworks.

Russia was the first in the world to formulate pyrotechnic compositions for pulsating fireworks and to develop ignition bursting charges with high burning rate so that figures and peony-/chrysanthemum-like spheres can burst overhead even wider. Various types of fireworks are available now: pulsating, flickering and colour-changing.
