Rostec State Corporation is launching the IGLA 93 hunting rifle. The product made of fully Russian components will be an available replacement for equivalent foreign products.

A pilot batch has been already tested, and production of the first small-scale batch is planned for the second quarter of 2026. Small-scale production is intended for the .308Win (7,62×51) cartridge, which has been available under the IGLA trademark for hunters and has three types of bullets.

“Russia’s first full production cycle of such product consisting of 100% Russian materials has been organized by a Russian company. The rifle is not only capable of replacing equivalent foreign products, but offers a set of benefits: the barrel and bolt are made of stainless steel, while foreign products use ordinary non-corrosion-resistant steel. Barrel grooves are made by planing to provide high precision bore geometry and minimize defects. The base model has been already provided with muzzle threads. The stock is made of carbon and has an adjustable jaw. The rifle also has an adjusted trigger,” said Rostec’s representatives.

Full production cycle established to manufacture a domestic hunter rifle, which compares well with foreign models in quality and performance and offers additional benefits, will reduce the dependence on foreign components. This will considerably simplify quality control at all stages and will make delivery schedule more predictable. The solution will make it possible to elaborate the model in a flexible manner according to market requirements, and production localization will support field-specific competence development in the country. Moreover, the rifle design allows using spare parts already available on the market.
