The machine tool builder in Kolomna included in STAN holding has launched production of the new SK6P200 gantry-type CNC centers. The high-performance production machines consist of domestic components and are necessary for machining the parts to be used in modern civilian aircraft manufacturing.

Due to the modular design, the SK6P gantry-type five-axis milling machine enables manufacturing of large-size workpieces, including wing parts up to 24 meters in size. The machining centers can perform dozens of preprogrammed operations and produce various airframe components. The machine is unrivaled among Russian manufacturers.

“Our facility in Kolomna has been working on this type of projects for years. Production of the SK6P machines will help Russian aircraft manufacturers minimize the dependence on foreign technologies and improve the quality of finished products,” pointed out Semyon Yakubov, Managing Director of Machine Engineering and Special Projects of Rostec State Corporation.

The new machines have a movable table designed to withstand a heavy weight. As a result, aircraft component workpieces can move free together with the machine table. This ensures flexibility and ease of machining very long and wide parts and facilitates the operator’s work significantly.
