The Rybinsk UEC Saturn, member of the United Engine Corporation (part of Rostec State Corporation), is expanding the boundaries of one’s natural monopoly within the international markets of science-intensive products.

The company has received the first ever patent from the Eurasian Patent Organization for the invention of a device for twisting of aircraft gas-turbine engine vane profiles.

The Eurasian patent is issued by the Eurasian Patent Organization and is valid within 20 years in the territory of the States party to the Eurasian Patent Convention.

The device for twisting of aircraft gas-turbine engine vane profiles makes it possible to produce titanium alloy vanes with minimal stock allowance and high material utilization rate. Moreover, the use of the device avoids the manual polishing process and helps to make the production less time consuming. The invention is expected to be used not only in aircraft engines manufacturing, but in other industries as well.

As part of the state import substitution program the base for Russian maritime gas-turbine production has been developed at the company’s industrial facilities in Rybinsk. In alliance with Safran Aircraft Engines (France) UEC Saturn is producing SaM146 turbojet engine for Sukhoi Superjet 100 civil aircraft.
