Twenty KAMAZ-5490 HI-TECH trucks have rolled off KAMAZ’s main assembly conveyor, and the production plan for December includes fifteen more such trucks. Fully-optioned KAMAZ-54901 trucks have been sold to Russian and foreign customers, with another ten trucks to be exported by the end of the year.

The new version of KAMAZ-54901 has additional fairings on the cab and chassis to improve aerodynamics and reduce fuel consumption by 5% to 10%. Vehicle equipment has been substantially modified: a more powerful engine is used, driver’s comfort and safety are improved.

In particular, the new KAMAZ-54901 with ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) is equipped with adaptive cruise control that is used to automatically keep the distance from the vehicle ahead, control the vehicle position in the lane and provide lane departure warning. The vehicle advantages include the emergency brake assist system, electronic braking system (EBS), electronic stability program (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and anti-slip regulation (ASR) system.

Similar to the base version, the vehicle has a new generation cab 2.5m in width with a high roof, two beds and level floor. The cab frame is manufactured at KAMAZ’s state-of-the-art robotized plant using zinc-plated parts subjected to cataphoretic coating and advanced painting process. Due to the state-of-the-art hi-tech solutions, the cab is corrosion resistant even in extra-heavy service conditions.
