Airbus Awards VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation Best Performer

This is the first time an award that prestigious goes to a Russian company

World's largest producer of titanium goods VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation received the Best Performer Award from the European aerospace corporation Airbus for the performance over the year 2018. As a part of their SQIP (Supplier Quality Improvement Program), Airbus held a supplier conference in Toulouse, France.

The titanium corporation's press relations office notes that this is the first time that a Russian company receives an award this prestigious. It is worth reminding that the corporation already received an Airbus award for dependability (Best Improver - 2017).

VSMPO-AVISMA is an important supplier for Airbus covering for over 50% of the company's demand in titanium goods. The collaboration between the companies began back in 1990 when they signed their first contracts for supplying raw materials. In 2009, a long-term contract was signed for supplying flat-rolled and round-bar titanium alloys as well as die-cast parts for Airbus until 2020.

At the moment, VSMPO-AVISMA supplies titanium die-forging for all Airbus aircrafts including A320neo, A350 XWB and A380. Russian titanium is used to produce the most heavy-duty parts - those exposed to stress most - landing gear legs, engine strut and wing elements.

VSMPO-AVISMA partner list comprises over 350 firms in over 40 countries. The Corporation's key customers on the domestic market are JSC Sukhoi Company, Orkut Corporation, Russian Helicopters, UEC NPO Saturn and others.

Key international partners include Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Rolls-Royce, Safran Aircraft Engines and others.
