Rostec’s United Aircraft Corporation has manufactured and delivered a new batch of the Su-34 strike fighters to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation within the state defense procurement program.
“The aircraft combines the fighter and bomber capabilities, and can hit ground, surface and air targets, in particular, in adverse weather conditions and during defensive counter-air operations. Due to large-capacity integral tanks and fuel-efficient engines, the Su-34 can carry out nonstop flights up to 10 hours without loss of crew performance,” said a Su-34 captain of the Russian Air Force.
“The Su-34 is an absolute bestseller in the combat aviation world. The aircraft is valued and honored in the field for its flexibility, powerful weapons and high performance. In view of its combat experience, improvements are continuously made in the aircraft, allowing the crews to fulfill assigned missions even more efficiently. New Su-34 batches are already at the manufacturing stage,” said Rostec’s representatives.
The strike fighter is designed to engage ground (surface) and air targets and infrastructure facilities protected by air defense systems and located at considerable distances from the home airfield. The aircraft may be also used to fulfill air reconnaissance missions.
“We keep up high military aircraft production rates and fulfill our obligations to the Russian Air Force. Our production personnel are continuously improving their manufacturing processes to provide the necessary rates of aircraft manufacturing for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation,” said Vadim Badekha, General Director of UAC.
