The institute was founded on the basis of radio engineering faculty in 2002

Director of the institute – Gennady Ivanovich Shcherbakov, Candidate of Science, professor.

On December 30, 2011 ‘Concern Radio-electronic technologies’ JSC and Kazan State Technical University signed a cooperation agreement. This partnership is aimed at joint education programs development, research and development projects organization, retraining and refresher training of employees, organization of externship for students and also target preparation of specialist for future work at ‘Rostec’ enterprises.

Major profiles and specialties: mobile systems, multichannel telecommunication systems, radioelectronic data transfer systems, laser information systems and complexes, radioelectronic information and measuring equipment,  nanotechnologies in electronic engineering, radioelectronic devices designing, digital television and broadcasting, fiber-optic structural monitoring systems, radioelectronic devices technology.
