Rostec’s National Air Ambulance Service (NAAS) saved more than 11,000 people in 2023, including about 2,000 children. The Service has made 10,000 flights – 30% more than a year earlier. The service area has increased from 51 to 67 Russian regions in a year.

The air ambulance delivers patients from hard-to-reach areas to regional hospitals and federal medical centers and provides emergency medical care services. Patients with strokes, heart attacks, injuries, women with pathological pregnancies, children and road traffic victims are the main patients.

“NAAS has operated as a single air ambulance operator over five years. During this time, we have expanded the route geography up to 67 Russian regions and saved more than 30,000 people. Air ambulance crews are on duty on a 24/7 basis to ensure urgent flights for severe patient transportation. This is important, because there is a well-known “golden hour” rule with the medical community when medical assistance is most effective,” pointed out Oleg Korol, Deputy General Director of NAAS, Chief Pilot.

NAAS air fleet has 68 helicopters – 40 Ansats and 28 Mi-8s. All helicopters have up-to-date intensive care equipment, including mechanical ventilators and pacemakers. They enable the crew to provide high quality medical aid to patients on board.
