Urals Optical and Mechanical Plant named after Yalamov (UOMP), Rostec’s Shvabe holding, has upgraded the developmental care equipment for neonates by reducing the percentage of foreign components considerably.

At this point, about 5% of neonates in Russia are born prematurely forming the general infant mortality statistics. Therefore, neonatal medical equipment that is helpful for such infants is still highly demanded by nurseries and maternity hospitals.

Modernization of Bono neonatal medical product family made by UOMP – Radiant Heat-BONO neonatal heater and ORS-BONO neonatal open resuscitation system – will improve technological independence, which is of utmost importance in the current sanction pressure conditions and geopolitical situation. The project included standardization of components and functional modules, reduction of the percentage of foreign materials and components used in the equipment. Currently, both products are used in hospitals in Russia and former Soviet republics for developmental care of neonates.
